Updated 3/19/2023 - Type'os fixed, Added "Will not Do" section, DTD taping added, Quality of life
Quote Policy
A quote is defined as an estimated price for a commissioned piece from a maker. These quotes are in no way contractually binding, and you do not have to go through with them if you so please.
When you've received your quote, it is valid for 6 months (180 days). After which, we reserve the right to increase/decrease the original quoted price and you will have to submit another quote before your suit is considered for it's position.
If a body suit is ordered, we do require a duct tape dummy of yourself (With good tape!!) mailed to our main location. Please refer to this Duct Tape Dummy "How To" in order to create the best duct tape dummy for the job! We would like your Duct Tape Dummy to come with the duct tape taped back together as failure to do so will result in an extra charge of $50. I will inform you first however before adding the charge, and either ask for a new DTD or provide the charge.
Deadlines are not absolute, just completion estimates. We are a small one to two person team and can have life that pushes dates back. We could get sick or have life events happen that are out of our control. That being said, we do attempt to adhere to any due dates that are communicated. If you direly need it by a single convention, please let us know and we can quote you for rush percentages according to the months that are between now and then.
All work we produce is consumer quality. Our suits are not built for mascot performances, athletic or other professional applications. If you require extra durable build methods, we will quote you accordingly for the extra measures needing to be made to do so.
All work done is a custom, handmade and wearable piece of 3D artwork. These are not mass produced and will have some variation between pieces. Some components may be more fragile between pieces and require proper care and maintenance to make sure your piece lasts a long time.
References and Character Submission
When submitting a quote, please include any 2-3 side references that you would like us to use. We can accept art pieces, badge pieces, and above all else reference sheets. The pictures must include clear descriptions of arms, legs, feet, body, and head. Anything not shown will be up to our artistic interpretation. And fair warning, we ask WAY too many questions. Anything extra you would like to add comment wise can be added on the last section of the quote form.
If you do not have a reference sheet, we can work with you on creating a 2 view reference with you. References are $40 flat rate. Quotes will not be solidified 100% until this is done. Base priced quotes can be charged, but the final quoted price will change depending on the outcome of this reference sheet.
We reserve the right to match the fur as best as we can. Fur does not come with every color underneath the sun, but it does have various dye lots and shades. If you have specific places you would prefer the fur to come from, or any links to the fur you wish to be purchased please do so on the comment question on the last section of the quote form. Of course, if specific fur is needed, there may be up charges depending on its shipping and rarity.
Anything discussed and agreed upon by both parties in writing, whether by email, notes, or pictures are a legally binding contract. By stating that our agreed upon prices are all set in stone, that means that they are set in stone.
**If you fail to follow the instructions above, you may end up with a suit that does not meet your expectations.**
Adopt-A-Suit Character Submissions
Adopt-A-Suits work much like submitting your own character. Designating through a screenshot of our images is always a good idea to submit for the "Reference Picture" needed and will help expedite the process of getting a character made.
Once submitted, the adopt will then be placed on a 6 month hold. This ensure that the adopt won't be claimed by another person before the quote itself is invalid. This will be indicated by text underneath the picture of the sona that says "On Hold". If another person submits a quote for a held adopt, I will personally contact them with the news. At this time, the commissioner must keep on our social media for openings for slots. Once a slot is claimed, it works much like a regular commission would. See below for those updates and policies.
If 50% of the commission is paid for, then the commissioner now owns the rights to the character and will receive a full sized picture of their new sona! This is to help make sure minimums are met, and that way the commissioner can then get new art and other commissions of their new sona before the suit even arrives!
Payment Policy
Slots are released once all commissions are finished and work can start on new costumes! There are three types of slots offered through Fursewna Studios: Immediate Slots, Waitlist Slots and Rush Orders!
Active Slots are slots that are ready to be completed, well, pretty much immediately! The 50% downpayment is required upfront, or work can not start and the $200 a month is required. Usually, anyone who reaches 50% of their payment will be moved to this category automatically or once the active queue has moved enough.
"On-Deck" Slots are slots that are needing to build up a little revenue while they wait to be completed. The 50% downpayment isn't required, but recommended. Usually, we can release up to 8 waitlist slots at a time. The first 5 waitlist slots are required to pay the $200 a month minimum required, but past that it is recommended (Slots 6-8).
Waitlist slots are slots that are in line ready to be put into action! The $200 per month does not apply to this category right away, but can be done if need be! If you are asked "if you are ready" though 3 times, your waitlist slot must be dropped and you will have to wait till the next opening to re-apply.
A Rush Order is a slot that is pushed ahead of all others regardless of what is needed to be done. A Rush order will add a percentage to the commission in relation to how long the suit needs to be rushed for. Rush orders MUST be paid in full upon taking a slot. Most rush orders will take up to 3 weeks to complete at the very earliest (at a Fullsuit level. The main worker also has another job, so that's why it takes 3 weeks, not 1).
We do accept payment plans of a minimum of $200 per month, but you must be aware of your time frame to accept this. If you need a full suit in 4 months, do not expect to make the minimum and be able to have your suit by then. We do not accept "Loans" of suits because of failure to complete the order on either behalf. We can not guarantee any convention deadlines will be met in any regard.
The client must discuss any deadlines before we agree to start any work. The artist reserves the right to turn down work with unreasonable or unobtainable deadlines given the time frame.
Payments are usually made through Paypal, but credit, debit, bank transfers, and money orders do also work. Paypal is our preferred way of payment however.
With each suit, 50% of the payments are non-refundable. These go towards ordering fur and foam and can not be refunded once started. Once we start on the suit and the commissionee drops out, you will be required to pay up to how much work has already been completed. We calculate this by hours worked. We reserve the right to refund in full or refuse refunds in certain cases.
Cancellation Policies
If you wish to cancel your commission we must be notified VIA email ([email protected]). We will then re-quote you and reimburse you as needed and if necessary. This will be calculated by the 50% down-payment, as well as time spent on said commission.
As a company, we reserve the right to cease any production given the need to do so. This can include the inability to continue commissions or to take on new commissions. Of course, if a commission is ceased in mid production, the commissionee (you) will be re-quoted and refunded the amount left over from time spent and materials purchased (will be higher than the 50% originally quoted. If new quote is below 50%, only the amount above that amount can be returned). We only work up to the amount given past the 50% in order to ensure cancellation goes smoothly and equally distributed between the work done, and the amount purchased.
If a suit is not created acordingly or needs repair from designer error, I do allow a 14 day grace period in order to send your work in and get it fixed. This does not include user error (tearing off a spot because you grabbed onto it/pulling leg seams, etc...) and will be null and void if any modifications are made to a suit that are done (extra glued spots, modificaions from another maker, murr zippers, food stains, etc...) The shipping back will be at the expense of the customer. Make sure the returned costume is CLEAN before repairs can be made, as you may be charged a $200 cleaning fee otherwise.
Payment Penalties
Failure to complete monthly payments can result in the following: Immediate Slots - In terms of payments the first month skip is tolerable, The second month skip results in a 5% increase in the total quoted amount, The third month skip results in a 10% increase and your slot will be thought of as inactive until another slot opens up next round. You then must wait till another opening is made, and take a new slot. Your payments are still valid, but the 50% is still non-refundable.
Waitlist Slots - If your spot in line is the next one to become an Immedate Slot and you aren't ready, you may be skipped to someone who is already at 50% payment or is ready to make the difference. This is of course, to help people who are ready to have their suits worked on to be completed. Once your waitlist slot drops within the slot 1-5 range, the $200 a month is mandatory. In terms of payment the first month skip is tolerable, The second month skip results in a 5% increase in the total quoted amount, The third month skip results in a 10% increase and your slot will be thought of as inactive until another slot opens up next round. You then must wait till another opening is made, and take a new slot. Your payments are still valid, but the 50% is still non-refundable.
Termination of slots can result in the following: Immediate Slots - 50% of the payments are non-refundable, as these go towards materials. You are required to pay up to how much work has already started on your suit. This is calculated by hours worked and total material costs.
Waitlist Slots - 50% of the payments are non-refundable, as these go towards materials.
Rush Order Slots - 50% of the payments are non-refundable, as these go towards materials. You are required to pay up to how much work has already started on your suit. This is calculated by hours worked and total material costs.
WIP's and Design Changes
During the quote process, you are allowed to email us regarding any changes to your design. Once you put a downpayment on the piece though, we ask that you keep design changes to a minimum. 3 design changes or "Redlines" are allowed, but any design changes past that will be charged an extra $5-$20 per change (Depends on how far into the process we have to backtrack or how intense of a change it is)
If you do have any changes, it will effect the amount of time it will take for your suit to be finished and there will be delays.
Shipping Details
This business ships through USPS from the United States. Most smaller purchases such as hands and tails will be sent with Flat Rate Shipping.
All other items are shipped by weight. Those items will indicate their weight in pound, which can be calculated with this Postage Price Calculator! On average, Shipping for a head is $35-40 and a fullsuit costs around $150-200
Once the suit is finished, the commissioner must pay shipping within one month. If it takes longer than one month, then the finished item will be placed into a storage area until further notice or other alternative routes must be planned.
If you are going to a convention that we are appearing at (Mostly around the Midwest area), then we can drop off your commission in person. The suit will then be bagged up properly and placed in an air conditioned storage area until the con. This is at no charge, except we do expect a picture with you. No walking away from that one.
